Expired Satellites

I've been holding out again, for them, to get their moment
I've been zoning out again, floating, in distant orbit
I'm stranded in circles overhead, while they're below
examining surfaces in red, stone, monochrome
I managed to travel millions in, only to show
that landing is so unlikely
Houston, in losing all ground
moves tend to get used to stalling out
now back checking for elements and level signs, vitals all look up
but I'm betting the measurements we set for life, were slightly off in all I've done.
I'm stranded in circles overhead, while they're below
examining surfaces in red, stone, monochrome
I managed to travel millions in, only to show
that landing is so unlikely
keep flying like, expired satellites
way out of touch, and losing it
colliding days'll come so act like
we were well aware and we never really cared much at all
keep flying like, expired satellites
way out of touch, and losing it
till alighting days are done

In Standby

best stickin' to simple shapes
tested on assembly lines (pushin' in circuits)
addicted to getting made
placing all the polished parts just right
and as they cast their glasses high in a motion
to toast the fastest quota down
chrome tinted chips would hint we're built to be broken
and meant to mold in gilded shells (in views exploded)
this is not what I ever thought design would be
a set of injected molds in demand busted and abandoned obsolete
in setting objectives all in standby I am starting to think that maybe this
time spent racin' on the clock
and never keeping up, (is wasted since)
i've been makin' it all
but still can't get enough, (i'm taking this time)
I've been payin' off the costs
(to slowly build back up and break again)
i've been takin' it all
we still can't get enough

yeah it's so worth it now
moving in a world cut from a magazine
or movie scene
so this is burning out
screaming jealous lovers so loud
and I am never gonna see your face again
last call, so take it in
we're never gonna see this place again so
drink up, live up the night, miss the bus
I just let go, a two-toned glow
as a zombie boys dance in their dirty clothes we sing
and as we sway I softly state
my arms, my legs, my face, they're already numb
before we left that place we're already gone
I sway and softly state
my arms, my legs, my face, they're already numb
as Berlin morning breaks we're finally done
so this is German town
and I can't understand a single thing they say to me
but I can work it out, since they're eyes are screaming so loud
and I am never gonna see your face again
last call, so take it in
we're never gonna see this place again so
drink up, live up the night, miss the bus
I just let go, a two-toned glow
as a zombie boys dance in their dirty clothes we sing
and as we sway I softly state
my arms, my legs, my face, they're already numb
before we left that place we're already gone
I sway and softly state
my arms, my legs, my face, they're already numb
as Berlin morning breaks we're finally done

speeding south
down to the wire
distance is closing out
but making me tired
and if we keep this pace the fuse they lit won't reignite and ruin everything (oh no)
but based on this movement that we do its seems we choose to live on fumes of gasoline (oh)
you and I will see
a flash of blinding light
saturate the sky
bright lines shoot
through the mirror we
are painted solid white
arms raised above our eyes
adjust our views just slightly... so I can't see the
come on c (b)
you and me
got to get up
blurry scenes
focusing
we lost track of
everyone
with the sun
now there's no time to
makes mistakes or hesitate
foot to floor
moving past
the people made of plaster
hand to door
turn the latch
keep on moving faster
pushing hard
beads of sweat
slip trickling down our necks but
this is what we get
(innnnnnn)
all those passive states
massive lights are closing in to smash each other
and I know if what they said is true
your colors will catch up to you
(and find another way in again)
everyone of your friends
disappears whenever apart
(because the end is closing in)
everything tends to end
somewhere near wherever it starts
now we are pushin'
one oh nine on the
ninety five just to
stay alive and collapse back at home on time
we're driving for a heightened sense of life as we race
with ultraviolet lines right behind erasing
everything that's made up
you and I will see
a flash of blinding light,
saturate the sky
bright lines shoot
through the mirror we
are painted solid white
arms raised above our eyes
adjust our
view and I will speed
pushing giant shadows of
ourselves in front of us
the skyline glistens
hues of tangerine
as everything we see
turns to a desert scene
Apollo
is at it again
sent golden hues
up over our heads
as light falls onto
the sheets of our bed
god knows we'll do
it all over again and again when we can
and I'll follow

there's blood on your collar
and gravel in my skin
but we've got our eyes
set on the other end
so what, they've got a gaunlet set on taking us out
the constant pressures got me pressing higher than I ever thought it'd take to hit the button
and if we live we get to limp to twenty more rounds
of Nitro, Laser, Ice, and Blaze up eye to eye trying to frighten me
and every time alignment seems just right gravity kicks in
don't tell me that you're alright
basin' life on a single section
now I'm noticing the phone lines
breaking waves as we change direction
each falls getting harder
since fractures keep splittin'
but we've cauterized
to climb our way back in
way up above the canons hunt to gun us all down
we're flinchin' with the ammunition flying by blind fire as we speed to hit the target
but lycra-coated rivals know to keep us zoned out
with friction from the hits to singe reminders my survival's everything
and every time alignment seems just right gravity kicks in
don't tell me that you're alright
basin life on a single section
now I'm noticing the phone lines
breaking waves as we change direction
